For Importers

Logistics & Shipping

Paper bags are light but bulky, so freight planning is mostly about volume, not weight. This page covers the shipping terms we work on, how much fits in a container, and realistic transit times to the regions we serve.

Shipping Terms (Incoterms)

Our standard terms are FOB Nhava Sheva or FOB Mundra — India's two main west-coast container ports, both well connected to our Valsad factories by road. Under FOB, we bear all costs and responsibility until the goods are loaded on the vessel: inland transport, export customs clearance, port handling, and documentation. From loading onward, ocean freight, insurance, and destination charges are yours, arranged through your freight forwarder.

We can also quote CIF / CFR to your destination port if you prefer a single landed-side price, or EXW if your forwarder manages the Indian leg. For first-time importers we generally recommend FOB — it keeps our pricing transparent and lets your forwarder compete on the freight leg.

FCL or LCL?

FCL — Full Container Load

The standard for recurring buyers. Your goods travel sealed from our factory stuffing to your door — lowest per-unit freight, no co-loading handling, fastest at destination.

  • 20' container: roughly 28–33 CBM usable — typically 150,000–400,000 bags depending on format and size
  • 40' HC container: roughly 65–68 CBM usable — typically 350,000–900,000 bags

LCL — Less than Container Load

Ideal for trial orders and smaller volumes. Your cartons share a consolidated container; you pay per cubic meter. Slightly longer handling at both ends, but a low-risk way to test the product in your market.

Most first orders in the 1–10 CBM range ship LCL, then graduate to FCL once demand is proven.

Bag counts per container vary widely with bag size and GSM — we confirm exact carton dimensions, units per carton, and container utilization in every quotation so your forwarder can price freight accurately.

Packing & Palletization

Bags pack flat in bundles inside 5-ply export cartons, moisture-protected with inner liners. Cartons are labeled with your PO number, SKU, size, and count. We load either palletized (easier destination handling, ~10–15% volume loss) or floor-loaded (maximum container utilization) — your choice, confirmed at order time.

Typical Transit Times

Region Common ports Port-to-port
Middle East / GCC Jebel Ali, Dammam, Hamad 5–12 days
East Africa Mombasa, Dar es Salaam 10–18 days
Southern / West Africa Durban, Lagos (Apapa) 18–30 days
Australia Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane 18–25 days
UK & Europe Felixstowe, Rotterdam, Hamburg 18–28 days
US East Coast New York, Savannah 25–35 days
US West Coast / Canada Los Angeles, Vancouver 25–35 days

Indicative port-to-port estimates on common carrier schedules; actual transit depends on carrier, routing, and season. Add inland time at both ends. Your freight forwarder can confirm current schedules.
